The Ecoparc of Chenevieres
|
The “Ecoparc” is a humid area of 22 hectares situated where the Indre and the Ringoire meet. This place, particularly rich in flora and specific fauna was occupied by a meadow on one hand and by a marsh on the other hand. Ponds and a spring increase the biodiversity. This humid environment was the setting of numerous savage dumps. |

In 1990 and for the following years, it was cleaned and converted to protect the place and permit walkers to visit it. 4 km of ways had been opened; one part of the place is looked after by rustic herbivores: bovid Highland Castle and horses of Camargue thoroughbred. These animals do not suffer from the rare flood days. |

We can see about sixty different birds according to the period of the year.
A botanical garden presenting wild medical plants of the Berry is possible to see, you can find a list of the plants at the Tourist Information Centre.
A footbridge on the Indre permits to rejoice Belle-Isle's Parc of Châteauroux which is a classic public garden without biodiversity.
An other interest of the Cheneviere’s Ecoparc is its position, near the town centre of Deols.
