The routes to "St Jacques de Compostelle"

Until the tenth century, Deols had a hospice St Crepin for pilgrims going to St Jacques of compostelle. This hospice doesn’t exist anymore but it was replaced by a place permitted to welcome until 8 pilgrims. Pilgrims had a kitchen, a shower with warm water and three bedrooms. This shelter is located next to St Etienne’s church, in the centre of Deols. In the church, we can find a chapel St Jacques and numerous souvenirs about the large history of Deols. |

Deols is on the road from Vezelay (North itinerary) to compostelle. The key’s shelter is avaible in the Tourist Information Centre, rue de l’abbaye (tel: 02.54.07.58.87) and in the presbytery, route d' Issoudun (tel: 02.54.34.43.62).It is impossible to stay more than 2 days . The price is 5€ per person. |
